Essential Oil Guide

Patchouli

Root · Muladhara · 396 Hz

Plant your feet. Slow the breath.

The deepest base note in our range — a true Root-chakra oil, anchoring the body in the present moment. Pure Pogostemon cablin from the volcanic earth of Indonesia and India, steam-distilled from sun-cured leaves until the colour darkens and the scent matures. The longer it ages, the better it gets — like the practice it pairs with. Diffuse three drops with the 396 Hz tone, and feel the ground come up to meet you.

Aromatherapy tradition

  • Grounding and centring — the steady base of meditation blends
  • Skin that needs holding — settling tender, dry, or weathered areas
  • Body in motion — long-lasting presence on the skin during massage
  • A protective scent — historically used to scent linens in tropical regions
  • The base that improves with time — patchouli matures rather than fades

Ritual use

  • Diffusion — 3–5 drops (a little goes a long way). Play the 396 Hz tone. Breathe down into the belly.
  • Massage — 1–2 drops within a 10-drop blend in 20 mL carrier oil
  • Bath — 2–3 drops in 1 tbsp jojoba, half-full warm bath, before stepping in

Pairs well with

  • Sweet Orange — Root depth meets Sacral warmth · the grounded day-blend
  • Ylang Ylang — Root and Sacral · sensual without losing the ground
  • Geranium — Root to Heart · opens the chest, keeps the feet down
  • Lavender — Root to Crown in two drops · the full chakra ladder
  • Eucalyptus Globulus — earthy base with breath-clearing top
